Our Story - Aboli Farm

Born from a dream of a city couple, Aboli Farm is a sustainable sanctuary of coconut groves, banana orchards, and natural farming nestled near Sawantwadi in South Konkan.

Our Journey

Leaving behind the bustle of city life, we set out to create a peaceful haven rooted in nature. Located in the fertile landscape of South Konkan near Sawantwadi, Aboli Farm reflects our passion for traditional organic agriculture, biodiversity, rustic living, in short, going back to our roots. Here, lush coconut palms, areca nut trees, vibrant banana plants along with a variety of birds, animals, reptiles and butterflies thrive under sustainable practices, honoring the rich coastal soil, its culture and biodiversity.

The Farm

Aboli is a sustainable farm nestled in the scenic landscapes of Sawantwadi in the heart of Konkan, Maharashtra. What began as a dream to reconnect with nature has grown into a journey of restoring the land, growing wholesome food, and creating a space where people and nature thrive together.

At Aboli Farm, we believe that farming is not just about producing food. It's about caring for the soil, protecting biodiversity, and working in harmony with nature. Guided by the principles of permaculture and sustainable farming, we nurture a diverse ecosystem of coconut, mango, areca nut, banana, and other native trees while encouraging birds, butterflies, pollinators, and beneficial wildlife to flourish. Through our farm we are also creating employment opportunities for the locals and building a community to increase awareness about sustainable and natural farming.

Our mission is simple: to leave the land healthier than we found it. Every decision we make is rooted in sustainability, from improving soil health and conserving water to growing clean, naturally produced food that you can trust.

Through Aboli Fresh, we bring the harvest from our farm directly to your home. Our range of farm products reflects the care, patience, and respect for nature that goes into every season's harvest.

As our journey continues, we hope to create more opportunities for people to experience farm life through guided visits, workshops, and a future farm stay where guests can slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the simple joys of Konkan.

Together, we plan to celebrate a way of living that is healthier for people, kinder to the earth, and sustainable for generations to come.

Gautam, Vidula, Sid, Adi - The Farmer Family

Aboli began with a simple dream: to step away from city life, slow down, grow our own food and create a more sustainable life for our children and future generations.

We were both city-raised, had lived and worked abroad, and spent years in corporate life. In 2018, a visit to The Farm of Happiness in Konkan changed the way we looked at food, farming and life. We experienced the joy of simple living - fresh food from the farm, mornings filled with birdsong, working with the land and growing food without chemicals.

We also saw the challenges faced by farmers, the growing water crisis and the loss of people from farming to city jobs. It made us realise that we couldn’t simply wait for someone else to create change. We wanted to do our small part, to have a piece of land where we could grow food, care for nature and preserve its resources for the future.

Konkan was always close to our hearts, and Sawantwadi felt like the natural choice. In July 2024, Aboli came into our lives, and changed ours forever.

Today, together with the local community, we are slowly nurturing Aboli into a living, thriving food forest rooted in nature, sustainability and the simple joy of farm life.
